This is a fun-filled fantasy story about work featuring "The poor goddess," who's fallen out of another dimension, and a motley crew of characters who seek not adventure but a stable life.

STORY

Kazuma Sato is a shut-in gamer who attempts to save a girl hit by a truck -- instead, he ends up losing his own life. He awakens to find the goddess AQUA before him. He is ordered to reincarnate, with the caveat that he can take one item with him. Kazuma's unlikely choice is the goddess herself. Thinking she might come in handy on the road ahead, he enlists her help, but on Earth she not only has no power, she doesn't know a thing about how the world works. She's useless! Kazuma, meanwhile, despite being an avid gamer, has surprising social charisma, easily landing a job and securing the income he needs for adventure. Wait a minute, wasn't he reincarnated in order to suppress an evil wizard?!

SUGOI POINT

Reincarnation tales often revolve around someone having supernatural powers that allow them to upend the social fabric. This piece turns that on its head. Kazuma brings AQUA along mostly out of frustration, but when the adventure begins, she's not just a burden, she actually causes more trouble than good A range of other peculiar characters appear, producing lots of twists and turns. It falls on Kazuma to lead this unlikely cast, and he's like a guardian to them. The pratfalls and havoc wrought by the goddesses are drawn in delightful detail, making the reader feel as if they’re part of the fun.
